Our Club's members are our greatest assets--their talents and enthusiasm contribute to the Club's ability to provide service to our communities. While Soroptimist International is not a political organization, we advocate for legislation that improves the lives of women and girls.
Attracting and retaining members is critical to the success of our club and the Soroptimist organization as a whole.
In order to attract new members, event sponsors and to spur participation, it is important to develop local media contacts and community outreach through events such as Chamber of Commerce mixers, festivals, parades and opportunities for "hands on" service projects. Our Club also participates in the Live Your Dream Campaign.
Our website and social media presence assist us to educate our community about who we are and what we do.
While the primary focus of our monetary contributions is to women and girls, we also realize that we are responsible for making our local and global "community" better for everyone. See our Events page for what we've done so far and where we are focused now.
Fundraising is how we fuel our involvement the community through monetary support and charitable giving.
Our signature programs are Live Your Dream: Training & Education Awards for Women, the Violet Richardson Award, and the Ruby Award: Women Helping Women. For more information on these programs, visit the AWARDS & PROGRAMS page from our main menu.
In addition to these Soroptimist-sponsored awards, our club also supports other local & international organizations whose missions meet ours...Women of Worth, Blossom Place and the Taylor House, transitional homes assisting families and girls, Africa HEART and the Auburn Interfaith Food Closet.
