Soroptimist International of the American River is a vital club, involved in Auburn and the surrounding area, and actively fundraising to earn money to support the Soroptimist two main categories. . . club-sponsored fundraising events we categorize as "Major Fundraisers" and community involvement events which may or may not involve fundraising categorized as "Community Events" . We may also take advantage of opportunities that allow us to do "Ongoing Fundraising" such as Amazon, GoodShop or local vendors who will donate a portion of sales on a one-time or ongoing basis.
As with many of our activities, there is a blending of focus. . . our events support two of our core activities: fundraising and generating public awareness for the Soroptimist organization. Whether it's soup or mud or bling or. . . we're there, working hard for Soroptimist and for women and girls!
We host one major fundraiser each November. This year we want you to...
We are always out and about...raising funds to support our Soroptimist mission, to offer hands-on assistance or just because...we have fun and we support the community we all love!
We support the Auburn Interfaith Food Closet with community collection barrels, hold food drives for emergency needs at meetings and walk door-to-door collecting food during food drives. We worked to clean up the Gold Country fairgrounds with other community groups. We decorated Santa's Workshop for the Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital's Annual Children's Fair. We've fielded a team at the Auburn Relay for Life in support of the American Cancer Society.
We've served soup at the Festival of Lights, collected muddy sneakers at Tough Mudder and scooped ice cream for the Boys & Girls Club! We work hard and have a great time doing it!
